Laboratory Services

Laboratory Services are offered onsite for both diagnostic purposes and treatment monitoring in partnership with Quest Diagnostic Laboratories. Other laboratories may be used by patients whose insurance plans give preference to those laboratory companies.

X-ray Services

Rheumatology Associates, P.A. has a registered, licensed, and experienced x-ray technologist available in-office to perform x-ray studies used both to assist with diagnosis and to monitor response to treatment. Onsite x-ray allows physicians to personally evaluate x-ray findings and review them with patients during their office visit. Some x-ray studies may be ordered by your physician at other x-ray facilities.

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Imaging

Musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging is useful in certain situations as an additional resource to allow earlier and more accurate diagnosis. Also, it can be used to guide some aspiration and injection procedures.

Infusion Therapy Services

Infusion therapy services are available onsite for administration of certain medications which may be used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, lupus, and osteoporosis. Our infusion center is staffed by registered nurses who are ACLS certified and skilled in administering infusions.

Clinical Research

Our Clinical Research Program offers patients the ability to enter clinical trials of new medications for rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, and other rheumatic diseases. This allows our physicians to offer new and emerging treatments to our patients. All studies are conducted following strict FDA clinical practice guidelines. Patient participation in research is completely voluntary and may be discontinued at any time. Our experienced, dedicated research staff would be happy to discuss with you and your family members any of the ongoing trials. For a decade, Rheumatology Associates, P.A. has conducted more than 75 clinical trials in numerous therapeutic areas. Questions about available trials can be answered by our physicians or our Clinical Research Coordinator.
